Default 1988 SeaCraft 18 FOR SALE $12K - WEST COAST

1988 SeaCraft 18 center console with Honda 90 HP EFI (approx 800 hours) with newly installed hydraulic steering system. Trailer is aluminum "Mako" brand. Fully maintained canvas cover is included. Crane lifting harness included. $12K firm.

I am the father of an Olympic level sailing daughter and this great boat has been our coachboat platform for use in the San Francisco Bay. My daugnter now sails skiffs which require Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB type coachboats) because of the sailboat’s wing platforms (49erFX class boats are approx 10' wide and when pulling alongside coachboats need a "soft" structure to pull wings up onto.)

I now have 2 RIBs (one for each coast) so we don't have to trailer between San Francisco and Miami as much.

This SeaCraft was purchased 10 years ago as we needed a SAFE coachboat for San Francisco Bay. Wind is 20+ and waves 4 to 6 feet. I own a SeaCraft SF 23 in Chatham Cape Cod and knowing SeaCrafts bought this sight unseen from a nice guy (ClassicSeaCrafter) from Miami. Then I U-Shipped it out west, added a brand new Honda 90 EFI 25" shaft and misc upgrades and sorting (double bilge pumps - main and backup, hydraulic steering system, etc.) I also equipped the boat with a vectran lifting harness that allows for safely craning the boat into the water from its trailer at yacht clubs.
Approx $20K invested to date.

I personally did all the maintenance basics (Honda engine oil & filter and drive fluid changes at first sign of oil changing color (generally twice a year), Honda brand drive shaft gear oil ALSO changed when engine oil done always, Honda brand filters, etc., all filters at least once a year. Engine cooling water pump impellers (with Honda parts) at least every other year whether or not called for. Engine has never overheated EVER. Great engine (Honda Fit car based I believe). I believe the engine has 800 hours since new. Most of the time the boat is on the water it is at lower RPM coaching speeds. But with a properly sized propeller the boat does 28 – 32 mph WOT I estimate.

I have sparred no cost in maintaining anything this boat needed by trained Honda mechanics (except for oil and filter changes by me.)

For the record, I would sporadically charter this boat out to visiting sailing coaches for $350 per day here in San Francisco if we weren’t on the water. This helped with offsetting the annual maintenance costs and yacht club storage yard fees.

Fuel system is a pair of portable 6.5 gallon fuel tanks so no stale fuel ever has been used. I abandoned the internal under the deck fuel tank when I acquired the boat as there could be weeks of non-use between uses. I had a Racor external filter with clear view bowl installed when I got the new engine. All under the engine cover fuel filters changed often (high and low pressure filters changed at least once a year).

I have included pics. But let me know if you need additional and I can take them. I can deliver free to anyone on the West Coast. I estimate shipping to the East Coast between $1500-2000. Boat is at a yacht club here in San Francisco and ready for a sea trial if needed.

I am well known among the US Sailing Team and have a reputation for superbly maintaining our family equipment.
