Default Popped Bottom Blisters for Trailer Boat... Now What?

Looking for some different Ideas.... This is the 23' Tsnami I towed home from Ft. Lauderdale. This will be my Full Time Trailer Boat... It gets pulled onto the trailer every day... Unless Camping...

So what are my Options... The bottom Paint was blasted off with a Dustless blaster because i intend to repaint the whole boat.... We uncovered about 300 Blisters on the Bottom from the Size of a Small Pencil Eraser to 1/2 that big.

1 - So... Can i use some kind of Epoxy and skim it...Shoot Epoxy Primer and Paint with PPG

2 - Can i get away with Shooting 2 coats of epoxy primer and then spraying PPG paint

3 - The blisters are all popped with the blaster... So i dont see a reason to have to sand them or grind them.

I am looking for a solution that is not a fortune in Paint or Crushing me with a 100 Hours of labor.... Planning on doing it myself.

Also have a lot of crazing and cracks i am going to grind/dremel out and epoxy on the top side.

Thanks In Advance for all replies.
Robert

Fair the deep stuff, prime it with hi-build, sand it, paint it and walk away. If you want it perfect it will cost time and money and the level of perfect is relative to the amounts of both.

I will let Shine make the call on the best fair and hi-build as I have paid to have mine done the last time. It's been so long I can't remember the name of the stuff I used when I still liked to get ichy.

I'll go do some checking with a friend who did his fountain recently.

Robert
You can sand, wipe vlean, fair with Fasco Fastone 2 part
Epoxy $20. Then sand entire bottom, paint 2 coats
( mixed 8 /2/3) Signature Finish and be done with it. No primer needed... ask me or Bushwhacker for further help or questions..
My bottom lasted 15 + years given the same conditions (lift & trailer use only)
I docked in the water for 4 weeks at a stretch without issues.

those were not blisters...they are little voids in the gel coat. No big deal. Just use epoxy putty and do what captain chuck said... I had the same problem and did it a little different then chuck, but the end result was the same. Visit my thread, post # 28...have fun

Captain Chuck and Trader, Thank you for the replys. I have ordered the fasco and called Tom on the Paint. Now all i need to figure out is how deep the high build will fill...

This is the boat that was in Fort Lauderdale the Tsunami. Nicks creative did a ton of the work 2 years ago and unfortunately someone must have been out too lunch. The more i dig the more issues i find. I was hoping that some glass work, crazing repairs and paint was all that was needed.

Right now, The Armstrong bracket bottom is touching the top of the Drain hole and it needs fixed, no way to even flare a brass tube or any kind of insert without removing the Armstrong bracket.... So trying to decide what too do... They did the wiring as well and its a Rats Nest and looks like a kindergarten Job.

I just need to take a slug of pictures and get some feedback... I might be better off to Just strip everything off, Raise the Armstrong Bracket and Rewire the whole boat. Could be faster....

Thanks Robert

As Island Trader said, those aren't blisters, which are typically much bigger. It's just what happens when you soda blast gel coat. Had mine soda blasted and got the same thing. I think the problem is that the moon suit the guy uses has such poor visibility that they can't tell how hard they're blasting it. That stuff is a lot more aggressive than advertised! Here's a post I did about it a few years ago. Unfortunately the damn Photobucket outfit evidently removed the slideshows I had put together, so the links in it don't work anymore, but here's a link to the photobucket folderhttp://s188.photobucket.com/user/dkb...?sort=6&page=1 with all the pics in it that should give you the general idea.

BTW, can anyone recommend a less user-hostile and less ad-cluttered site than Photobucket?!

Denny thanks for the input... I appreciate it. Looked at all your pictures. I had the Dustless system with 40/70 glass bead used was not suppose to do that. I think the Farrow system is the only way to go. The more i look the more i agree and i went through all your pictures. Thank You...

Any thoughts on this one... this is my official now
