Default Moving console forward

I'm still in the process of putting the boat back together and I'm trying to decide how far forward to move my console. Right now I'm thinking of moving it about 4" forward wich will leave me about 12" between the seat and the raised deck. Is 4" enough to see any difference in the transom waterline height? Should I move it further and lose walking space between seat and deck? On average how far forward have you guys moved your consoles and did it make a big difference. I'm going to convert the front seat into a 22 gallon (188lbs) well and I have 2 batteries far forward under the console. I have a 1989 20sf.

Thanks,
Javier

If you are still putting a 475lb 150 HPDI on the transom, then I think getting weight forward is key. I have batteries and tank forward and that is just enough with ~430 lb on the transom on a 1975 MA. I think the later trackers tolerate weight a tiny bit better. But 475lb is enough that I would push mass forward in the boat.

EDIT: You raised the deck. That will help with the bailing. It doesn't fix trim, though.

Maybe I should also move my batteries even further forward and put them in the fishbox. It's not insulated so I just use it for storage.
