Default Flush Deck 23

Has anyone converted their 23 into a flush deck setup like a seavee? Aside from losing some below-deck storage, what are some other pros and con's to setting a boat up like this?

There have been a few guys that ditched their casting platform and made it all one level. You loose alot of storage in the bow for sure!

The open deck is a lot more appealing to me as I change the way my current boat is laid out depending on what fishery I'm in-ex:70g livewell in front for tuna and blackfish, removeable coolers for bass. A little in-deck storage would be nice but I definitely don't need things like in-deck fishboxes or livewells.

Are there any structural concerns or other PIA construction issues with a level deck?

I was headed that way, I raised the stringers by 2" to give some extra room, but it still was not enough to make it feel right. The problem is the deck/cap does not come in far enough, its extremely awkward (and maybe dangerous) to have the sole at a level where you are leaning out to get to the gunnels. Your feet are behind you.

If the gunnels were a bout 4" wider up at the bow, it might work so long as you also raise the sole by 2". Of course the more you raise the sole, your loosing freeboard and the safety it affords. Its possible, but IMHO not very practical until you get a little bit bigger boat, then there is more room. Not to mention a loss of storage.
