Default Westinghouse

Has anyone else here had problems with Westinghouse products? I'm going on my fourth HDTV now and had nothing but problems with their customer service. It has been 5 weeks since they have received my last set and I still hadn't gotten the new one. Originally they told me it should only take two weeks, now they keep saying "any day now" without any time frame . I'm totally pissed-off with them and their products and will never buy a single thing from them ever again. Plus I was originally told I would be getting a new TV now they tell me it will be a refurbished one. What a crappy company!
I should have listened to Seafari who told me to buy good old fashioned Jappanese instead of this Chinese made American junk.

It feels good to vent.

Wow, you saved me Chris.

I was just about to but a 26' flatscreen from Westinghouse for my son. They are practically giving them away and it has a nice picture.

Now I know why.

Peter, good move.
I bought mine a year ago cause it rated real well and the picture was exellent (when it/they worked).
But to be going on my fourth tv? And to be hanging me up to boot with their cappy customer service and shipping? Give me a break. They can go pound sand IMOP.

If you're going to buy Plasma or LCD stay with the major companies like Sony (my unit and I love it), Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic, Pioneer, Mitsubishi, etc. I hear Visio is OK but am not aware of any major problems. I bought mine thru the AAFES (military) webpage and it was delivered to my door within 2 weeks and I saved about $600-800 to boot. If anyone's interested in SF, I can purchase the unit with your credit card and have it delivered to your place. We just have to meet so you can see what's available in the webpage. Or if you have a specific model in mind, give it to me and I can find out how much it will cost this way.

We have some Westinghouse "communities" here in SW Florida. I'm pretty sure it's the same corp that makes appliances. Seems that home owners can't get help with mold issues, leaking roofs and other problems as well. Guess what, Westinghouse filed for bankruptsey a couple months ago. Poor sob's.

Vizio is good. They assemble their TV's from components made by others, and just add their own firmware/software. Most Vizio LCD screens are made by Samsung or Sony. The Vizio plasma screens are all made by LG. I have a 42" Vizio plasma that has an incredible picture. I bought direct from the company 2 years ago before they closed their St. Pete operation and moved it to Arizona or New Mexico (or wherever).
I have had the remote replaced once. They sent me a new one and I just sent the old one back to them at their expense.

It's great for watching football and golf and fishing.
