Keys fish report
After a three day photo shoot in Key West I had a chance to fish with two other forum members this morning on the way home. Reelsmoker (Diego) took Joey and I out to a wreck to give this Shimano butterfly jigging thing a try. Diego landed the first fish of the day, a small dolphin that went into the ice box. Joey followed up with a spirited African Pompano, and I brought in a few fish heads before managing to get a whole fish to the boat (doing my part to feed the cuda's and sharks I guess). Throughout the rest of the day we caught as many AJ's as our arms really cared to and the token yellowtail that I'd probably best not post a photo of.
Between toothy fish and the wreck itself we managed to donate a handful of jigs to the ocean today but a fair amount of fish visited the deck of Diego's boat. Many thanks to both Diego and Joey for the past few days, these sure pull harder than those trout in Colorado! Here's a shot of Joey connected to an African Pompano: A pre-cleaning-table view of tomorrow's fodder for the grill: A shot of me thinking about the lifetime warranty on the Trevala rods: no warranty claim on the rod afterall: |
