newport help
I am,going to be in Newport, RI for a few days and would like to take my guest fishing for Bass/blues and maybe fluke. Any of you locals have some good easy spots and advice on where to go in our 18' inflatable tender.
Thanks |

Re: newport help
Lots of spots you can get to in that tender. I know of several surf spots with huge rocks (can you say structure??) that I wish I could get close to in my boat.
However, Jason (Trayer) would be the best one to answer that question. He lives in Newport and knows the area much better than probably anyone on the board. -Ed- |

Re: newport help
All over - from directly across the harbor alongside Jamestown (good when in the lee of a SW) to anywhere from the harbor on over along Ocean Drive... Just starting to hit the duldrums but they may be short lived this year - when are you coming up?

Re: newport help
I wish I had known you were going to be in town. I also wish my D@#$ 20 was finished.
I feel obligated to post as you are only 2 miles down the road from me at the moment. I would listen to JohnR's advise as he knows the Newport area better than I. While you are in BI you should hit the SE corner and slow troll a tube and worm. You could try the SW ledge but it gets crazy on the weekends. Too bad you will not be in NPT this weekend as we are having our get together. What size boat are you Captain of again? |
