1978 20' Seafari in South Louisiana

I am listing my 1979 20' Seafari for sale. This was originally my Dad's boat which was special ordered & picked up in Homestead, FL on labor day weekend of 1978. It was sold in the mid 90's to a friend of my Dad, after that we lost track of it. Last year, I got a call from one of my friends that recognized my Dad's old boat for sale. I went to look at it and decided that I needed to buy it to restore it to it's former glory.

Due to the bad records kept in Louisiana at the time, the boat registration and title lists it as a 1979 model. The hull ID is SECC00060878.

It turns out that I don't have the time to bring my Dad's old boat back to it's former glory, and it is killing me to see it sit as it will only get worse as time passes. I have WAY too much on my plate right now and need to make room on my property and in my life for other things. I figured that this should be the only place that I list it for sale, as I know that the members here truly love their Classic SeaCrafts, and will give it the attention that it deserves.

I haven't done anything to it since I purchased it 10 months ago. I did purchase a couple of parts for it that will obviously go with it (power trim lines and water pump kits for I/O), and a spare engine that came with it in my original purchase. I will put new tires on the trailer because I won't let it leave my property and have a blow-out on the way home, like what happened to me. Hydraulic surge brakes on the trailer are inoperable right now, but aren't really needed as long as tow vehicle has good brakes. The only soft spot in the floor is in the hatch covering the fuel tank.

I am not looking to make a profit, I would only like to re-coup what I have in it, and will let it go for $5000. If you are interested, let me know and we will see if we can schedule a time for you to come take a look at it.

Just to let you know.....my boat has the same title/hull ID issue as yours. The hull was laid in 1978, however it's titled as a 1979 due to when it was finished. Yours is hull #006, started in August of 1978. Good luck!!!

It was a shrimping platform back then, but has been converted to a swim platform by the previous owners.

Since I am the one who had that made to my specifications, I will guarantee that there was no compromise to the transom or any other part of the boat. It attaches through the rod holders and turnbuckles to the towing eyes only.

And yes, it will hold 400 lbs plus over and over again with no ill effects. Except for when I misplaced one foot and ended up in the Gulf, right Steven?
