First Ride 20' SF Rehab
Just got my boat wet for the first time after a year long rehab. I thought I would put this in the performance section since I have some data on the boat with a Yamaha F115 and Solas Amita 13 1/2 X 15 prop. I actually hit 6000 at 37mph when I trimmed the motor up until close to breaking loose. Just me in the boat with 40 gallons of fuel. Still need a few details like putting in my lean post and bait tank, fabricating a console door and anchor locker door, plus some trim around the gunnels. I'm pretty happy with the performance I am getting but may try a stainless in either three or four blade. My options on props are a bit limited, the Yamaha is a lefty!

Nice, congrats. Those are pretty good numbers, keep us updated on other props.

Very interested in this thread
I've got a 87 20sf (which I believe may be a little longer then yours) and I currently top out 33mph at 5500-5600rpm. It's a painted stainless Yamaha prop 17p. Out of curiosity what hole is your engine mounted in. Nice looking boat. |

The cavitation plate is about one inch above the boat bottom. 3rd hole but my transom was rebuilt to 25"ish so not factory specs. She is a 74 hull. If I had known where the motor would sit I would have built the transom higher than the 25 3/4" it is now.
If your running a Yamaha four stroke the 15 pitch Amita should get you a bit more speed/rpms but I was running a light load and 35mph at normal trim so we are pretty close I would think. |

Thanks, it might be a while as I have a few other priorities having decent performance. I might try a four blade aluminum pretty soon since they are fairly cheap but I want to get it fully rigged and weighted down to see if I might want a 13 pitch.
