Does the glass go in before or after?
I'm installing the windshields on my 25 seafari and it seems that it is going to be much easier if I affix the windshield frames to the boat first and then install the glass after due to the weight and awkwardness of the the whole set up. However it will be easier to install the glass to the frames and put in the weather stripping while the frames are off the boat. Trying to decide how to best approach this. Boat looks wonderful in the sun light BTW

Re: Does the glass go in before or after?
Hey Strick,
I think you might be concerned with weight and awkwardness of the individual panels with the weight of the glass not being supported while putting them into place. I was just looking at the pic's of the twin I/O boat over on the for-sale section and an idea occurred to me. If you made up some panels of plywood for each major section and mounted them first and then replaced them one at a time with the real thing w/the glass, they might support the panels as you get the glass panels into place. Between being able to add a brace here and there to the wood, it might help. Just an idea. I can't even imagine trying to install the glass in the panels with the frames already mounted in place. Good luck. - Lance

Can you mount it in sections on the boat ?

Re: Does the glass go in before or after?
Mount the glass first with the frames laying flat. Using a silicone sealant on the frame and then the gasket after the glass is set. Then intall the frame loosely with the t-bolts and slide everything in place. This is how I did my 23 Sceptre. Start with the sides and slide everything from there.

Re: Does the glass go in before or after?
Thanks fellas for the help. I guess there is more then one way to skin a cat. I had my buddy Bill come over and we mounted the frames first. I'm mounting the glass currently and it's going great. Will post pictures soon.
