20SF 130 or 150hpdi ?
I have to re-power a 74' 20SF; tossed between a 150hpdi and a 130 yamaha (both used). The extra weight of the 150 is what concerns me.. Is the extra 100 lbs. (approx) enogh to be concerned about?
Thanks, Boni-B

If he still has the in floor drains, maybe you guys with this hull could chime in about whether it will make any difference in terms of water coming in at rest.

With an HPDI,You would have to move alot of stuff forward in order for it to self bail, even with no one in it.

I would think you can find the weight of the current motor and the Yammi Then stack that difference in weight on the cowling or whatever. It should give ya an idea at the dock. Assuming there is a current motor.

Re: 20SF 130 or 150hpdi ?
There's no power on the boat right now, so I have nothing to compare it to and the floor drains still go through the deck; recently replaced with bronze. I'm affraid to pick the hpdi and then find out she's sits too low.
Seafari, where is the 200, on LI? Wish the hpdi's wern't so much heavier than the carb'ed ones.

Re: 20SF 130 or 150hpdi ?
My setup has mine at the top of the bronze at rest. I really don't have any of the problems with weight and drainage and height that so many speak of. My motors only 410ish lbs. But 30" back. She would dolphin a little under 3200 in some conditions especially light on fuel, but the motor was not at the right height and there are no tabs. I love the simplicity of this boat! So I put an original cheap Stingray fin on and changed the motor height and gained 2 knts up top and I can't tell you how quick she pops you up on plane and now I can't make it porpoise. I'd like to get a blown 25" 175 60deg. Johnson/Evinrude to redo, super light reliable motor or an older non o-ring Merc. but really I want the OMC.
