Re: 1978 Classic SeaCraft 20SF Will 115 perform well
I had a 20MA with a 115 Evenrude. It performed OK but topped out in the low 30's. Fuel consumption was great, then I replaced it with a 200 Merc. Speed increased to about 50 but boy did she drink the gas. So it's your choice;speed or economy.

Re: 1978 Classic SeaCraft 20SF Will 115 perform well
A 115 will power it just fine. As a SeaCraft dealer in the 80's I rigged more 115's on the 20 than any other motor. I even rigged quite a few with 85 hp motors, and they, too, performed adequately. Finally, I have a 20' Seafari, and I have a Mercury 90 hp Optimax on it which runs well and gets over 5 mpg at cruise.
