Default you don't want these two on your boat

we were heading out to the "new" cabin and ran across schooling fish and helped ourselves to a few. between the two of them I was "busier than two panthers in a gunny sack", but it was fun nonetheless. While "Momma" (who can whip me any day on the water)was wrestling with the keeper fish, my son was keeping me plenty busy with his "tarpon". The Redfish she is holding was exactly 28 inches, the smallest was 25 and the trout ranged from 20-18.
My son can't wait to catch a Mahi-Mahi. It would have been nice to have done this in our boat, but money and time play a very distinct factor in that, hopefully soon. He has said numerous times " the reason were not catching any Mahi-Mahi is because Dad's boat is not finished, but atleast I can catch some tarpon".

wouldn't it be nice if we could always see it through a Kid's eyes. I started to explain, what kind of fish they really were, and decided to just leave it alone.
We'll worry about that part later. It's a good sign, right, all fisherman stretch it a little.

On a side note, we would have caught more but a very considerate gentleman deiced to snowplow through our drift and as hard as i tried, couldn't reach him and he didn't give me enough time to tie on a heavier weight. He was easily within 50yards . We had enough for dinner, and that is all I was hoping for, but it is always nice to turn some away because you want to, instead of being busted up.
Was a great day anyway, we had fish in the box, enough to have a fish fry....all is good. And by the way I promise to clean up the boat stuff in the yard......soon.
