Default Keys rental recomendation

The family and I decided to go to the keys this year rather than the NC mnts. Looking for a rental around marathon for a week. I need dockage for the Seacraft, pool for my 10 year old boy and trying to keep it around the $1200 range. House would be nice but condo is probably more in line price wise.

Looking for either week from July 11-26.

Other than surfing the internet, I dont have any sources.

Anyone here have any prospects or recomendations? Thanks

A couple of things, 1. has to be Marathon area and pool?? How about Islamorada? and 2. you should be good on those weeks, at this late date don't even think about the week of July 26th....sportsman season for lobster, the 30th and 31st.

We love Drop Anchor Resort, in Islamorada. Nice pool, close to holiday isles, Dockage for boat and a ramp. nice rooms, and very relaxing and quiet. I have been useing them for 15+ years.

If a pool club is OK you might want to check out Key Colony Beach. I have a house in the rental fleet and the agent has asked us if we were willing to "make deals" on the rent. I guess in order to rent places people are offering less than the advertised rates. It seems other than Mini Season the place doesn't rent much in the summer. Before you get any ideas I must tell you my wife and I will be spending most of the summer there - sorry.

Instead of a shameless plug for the agent do a search or PM me and I'll give you details. Let me know if you get there and we'll do some fishing!

I'll second Key Colony Beach. I was just down there for 7 days and fished 5 of them. We had a rental on 7th street, the house backed up to the canal. walked 15 steps and put a foot on the boat. The 409 & 500 lumps are 24 miles from KCB. and the 7mile rock pile is 9 miles. With 6 guys it worked out to $850 per man for the 7 days. The house was $850 for the week and we used Vaction Boat Rentals for the boat and that was $1,400 for the 7 days. it was a 27 Cape horn with twin 200 HPDI's GPS,VHF and outriggers. They do rent Sea Crafts but they were rented.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions and help. After further research, we booked a week in July at the Venture Out Resort on Cudjoe Key. A nice little unit that was less than anything else I found, nice amenities for the kid and the boat will be right behind us.

Starting to tie up some bone flies (I've never caught one) and white bait patterns. I'll let you know how it goes

Thanks again

Tim
