Default Gotta have a Carolina event

Okay guys we need to do a Carolina's/Virginia gathering .The pics and posts from the southern members make me jealous. We have great fishing right here , even if we can't get a good group of Seacrafts alone I know you can find a group of avid boaters that would love to get together for a long weekend of camping fun and fishing.Lets plan something.

We could do the Outer Banks.
Im sure we could find room for all the boats in Hatteras.

Thanks

Excellent , Hatteras and Ocracoke in the fall are very close to the Gulf Stream . Check out http://marine.rutgers.edu/mrs/show/?...5.1802.n18.jpg

I have seen the warm water temps within 7 miles of Ocracoke inlet several years back. I have also seen a Nat. Geo. special on schools of tuna that stay just offshore NE of Cape Lookout . In fact a record Bluefin was caught on flyrod that was recorded on the Spanish Fly show .They were recording a show aboard Capt. John Jenkins boat when the call came thru that a potential record was hooked up . They motored over and videoed the event. I have seen it on TV , it was a monster Bluefin.

What's Up! My SeaCraft will not be making the journey but it looks like I may be celebrating my 42nd birthday in Manteo! Next season may work out for an adventure up there but my brother and I (Vezo Part I, 1987 SC 18), have very little experience with tuna. We are avid Striper fisherman originally from Jersey, and that is what I'll be targeting this month, should the weather hold out.

We are both firefighters, and have some connections locally for a get together, but the Gulf Stream is so far its much better inshore NOW! I'd be willing to travel north but I'd rather put up a couple of people here for the Spring gathering in Fla.. I like the idea of a Carolina gathering, but it sure would be easier to trail a 15' Whaler up there! What do you think? Vezo, Part II.

Anyone near Manteo for a little Holiday Cheer? I hear I'll be very close to Pirates Cove.?.

All right , glad to see the interest.I just heard on the radio this morning that the bluefin are already showing up on the east side of the cape.Dr. Bogus had a report on this morning on my way in to work. Some were caught within 15 miles on the east side and several also on the west side.
