Default Sailfish on a Flats Boat

Well, this afternoon (2:30pm) the wind was swaying out of the SW so I new the seas would be calm. Packed up the dog, wife and a couple of rods to try my luck at the migrating Tarpon on the beach in my Flats Skiff. The seas were layed down as expected. We scored a few dozen sardines and headed north looking for the rolling Tarpon pods. NO LUCK. So enjoying the calm sea we headed out to 55 ft of water (+/- 2 miles). We put out the livies and BAM!! Skyrocking Kingfish but they quickley whacked off the bait. 2nd bait now being free-lined and Bam again! This time, Mr Sailfish made his appearance.... Kind of a cool catch on a 18' Viper flats skiff I bet he jummped 10-12 times and a did a couple of tail walks. I sure put the ole Abu Garcia plug reel with 16 lb line to the test....

Sorry for the lousey pics (not quite the caliper of Ikan Besar) but do ya want for a camera phone Anyway another great afternoon was spent with my better half (she took the pics not the dog)
