Not sure about the SEACHOICE model's? You sure don't want the Rabuds.
You really want the T-H Flow-Max™ Ball Scupper's.

This is what I have.

Tired of scupper leakage? Replace your old worn-out flapper scupper with our new Flow-Max™ positive sealing ball scupper. New easy twist-off design makes cleaning debris a snap. Simply twist counterclockwise to remove ball cavity, clean out and twist back on. Stainless steel security pin provided for added safety. Larger exit hole allows 70% more water drainage than its nearest competitor. Multiple mounting holes make retrofits quick and easy - no filling holes or re-drilling. Neutral buoyancy ball insures ball won't float up and break seal. Meets all ABYC standards.

New easy twist-off design makes cleaning debris a snap. That's the diffrense. Easy to clean and not have to unbed the units.

The Flow-Max in the picture looks like the Sea Choice that we use.

Do you need to remove the thru hull to use those?

Yes, i would think so. they have a large/thick silcone gasket that needs to sit flat.
Here's how I did mine.

Wait till the balls get a bunch of gunk on them and don't seal just right. You will wish you bought the T-H's then.

To get the ball out and clean it with T-H's, you remove a set screw and give the enclouser a 1/4 turn and it's off.

To do the same thing to Rabuds you must remove all the screws and unbed the unit. This can lead to water infestation into the transom core and a mess rebedding them.

Too bad someone doesn't make one that is large enough diameter to go around (over) the thru hull.

If your decision is to utilize the Rabud Ball scuppers then just add a 1/4" Perko spacer. The holes alighn with the Rabuds and then it will fit over the thru hull fitting flange
