Alright,

Barnstable it is, I am going to be on the road for the next few days so I am dropping the hammer on this decision
Guys this is a great decision.

I love the Chatham and Monomoy areas, but for what we are planning we would end up with lots of unhappy people becuse somehow it would fall apart, weather, parking and skinny water to blame.

Barnstable is a great decision!

Low water is at abot 1030 am leaving a huge tidal flat open on the west bar at the extreme east end of Sandy Neck. Be there early, it fills up with boaters fast on good days and low tides.

Off Capers can launch from Sandwich Town Marina in Sandwich, Blish Point at Barnstable Harbor, or Sesuit Harbor in Dennis which has ramps on both the east and west sides. All have lots of parking.

And that's all you need to know!

Skinny water is only an issue at the entrance to Barnstable Harbor and it is easy to spot. There is a spot about 3.5 miles north of the Barnstable bell bouy called the fingers, bring your 300' wire outfits and your bunker spoons for big bass, or bring sluggos and head inside to cast at fish.

And that's it, plug and play in the Bay!

Call Hooper on 68

Me too.

"Osprey" I'll be on 68. What time is everyone meeting down by Barnstable harbor?

Keep in mind fellas, when you see the Osprey, she is a work in progress from year to year. She won't be as nice as most but she is mine and I love her. Sure we have had our fights but we seem to be okay now. See ya there

I didn't realize that this was a fishing trip. I thought it was a gathering to see each other's Seacrafts and socialize. There is a great place where people party out on north beach with plenty of places to anchor your boats as someone mentioned in an earlier post.
I've had a mooring in Ryders Cove for 9 years. The parking lot has changed quite a bit. The parking is not as bad as people think.
I know you are going to Barnstable but some of you mentioned an interest in Chatham so I made a map of Ryders Cove with parking info in case you are up this way in the future. In the parking lot itself there are about 15 trailer spaces for out of town trailers. And just off Ryders Cove there is parking on Old Comers for about another 15 trailers. Here is the site I made: http://home.comcast.net/~swhanson/ryderscove.jpg
Have fun next weekend.

Sandy -

I do believe it's both - with some of the folks getting in some fishing, as desired, and then a social gathering to share our boats and whatnot. If you're that close you should stop by !

Sandy,
Welcome to CSC and thanks for the Ryders cove parking info. I've saved it for future use.

Regarding the gathering, it's to see each other's Seacrafts and socialize as you tought. Before and after some folks may do other things like fish, cruise, etc. Personally, I'll probably fish before the event.

I am thinking about fishing also, might grab a buddy and take the 50's out to P Town way and see if there are a few footballs around, then make it to Sandy Neck by 12 noon or so...

That's my plan also - be in the water by 6am and meet up with everyone around noon.
