Alright i am in the sunshine state getting some much needed vacation after my winter of outside side work.
The boat is being worked and i will post pics when i get home . As my feeling were correct randy is doing an amazing job of finishing the boat off for me and i cant wait to see it painted.

here we go
the first orderof business was for randy to fix a hasty decision I made to squirt potter putty up under the gunnel between the cap and hull sides. the pic is of the 2 lbs of putty he ground out. after it was all cleaned he glassed the cap to the gunnel all the way around. he ground down the outside of the cap where 42 years of rub rails and what ever else was mounted an put some glass on there also. He got more glass on the rear boxes where I ran out of time do to stuff before I brought it to him. he shaped and grounded and put the 1708 down in a certain way so any of the inside angles were not cut pieces. Its amazing home much I learned in his shop in the couple hours I was there. the fairing was applied to the inside hull liner and was starting to get faired.

I am back now but the some pics have been coming daily
randy suggested that he put a layer of mat over the entire gunnel cap to prevent any spidering from showing through the paint in a couple years. I agreed and he did it. progress being made they got the high build primer shot to the boat and now the sanding starts

The only place I did not do it was in the V-bunk since that was going to be cushioned...and guess what? Yep some small hair lines are showing up. However fairing all that stuff out was a real PIA

Randy laid 2 extra layers of 1708 on the inside to beef up the engine shround, couple layers of mat on the outside and started fairing and shaping. The fit is amazing, like it grew there

the insides have been faired out and sanded flat and smooth, the cap has been faired and sanded out. the next step is to put the radius back in the boxes and the gunnel cap. the high build primer will take care of the rest of the fine fairing.
