Does this spill change anyones thought on having oil rigs off our coast? ive always been against , but I can see both sides of the argument.

Thanks for the links / maps. Holding my breath and praying that it's not going to be as bad as they think... I feel bad whining about not being able to go fishing for fun, when that's the way a lot of folks around here make their living.

I am still okay with offshore drilling, but better safe guards need to be in place. Accidents happen... we still have plane crashes and we still pack the airports everyday. Just sucks that this happened and the damaged it is causing.

NOAA announced Sunday that they were prohibiting commercial AND recreational fishing from the mouth of the Mississippi to Pensacola Bay. That would include Alabama. Don't know how they plan to enforce it. Heck there's not enough enforcement out there on a normal day. Supposed to be closed ten days minimum.

I stopped and talked to a couple of guys today that were heading out... they said they were going to keep fishing until they see oil at the boat dock or the police would have to force them to stop.
