sf 23 static waterline
I was wondering if my 23 is resting at a somewhat reasonable waterline level... I have twin mercs 150 HP carbs...waterline at stern is about 2.5-3". With 105 gallons of water. I used two 55 call n drums for ballast to represent fuel weight.

With one 2 stroke V-6 outboard (420 lbs) and 100 gallons of gas my waterline is about 1/2" above the base of the exterior gunwale.

If your trying to simulate 105 gallons of gas with 105 gallons of water, your going to be way off. (about 200 lbs I think)

During the renovation, we moved batteries and oil res forward. With the Yamaha 2S 200 and low fuel, the hull sits perfectly level with the chine at the stern 1" above the water. We also removed any un-needed "accessories".

It was just a simulation of weight. I assumed ice and well of coarse,, fish ..for the extra 200lbs...lol used to be400. Lbs but the new regs limit us now.... I was not in boat..
