They have trailer parks in Florida too!
Just come down for the winter! I'd love to go to Maine or further for the summer. |

Terry,
Thanks,You may be right,I do have some assets.Funny,I remember how older people would say to me when I was in my early forties,That the decision on when to retire isn't an easy one to make. Now that I'm the old one,I find myself in the same dilemma."will I outlive my money?,will my health become a factor?, will I be able to handle the Seacraft by myself?, I guess at some point you just have to do it. Dave, I thought about a trailer in Florida, figuring that I could sell the house in Mass, spend the summers at my trailer in Western NY,stay wuth my kids until Christmas, then spend the winter in a trasiler in Florida. I know nothing about trailers,or trailer camps in Florida, what about the hurricanes, don't they love trailers? If you like to get away in the summer to a nice spot,Olcott Ny is a nice place,it's western NY where everyone there hates NY city, they love their guns and still live like it was back in the sixties.Politically, you would never think you're in the state of NY.It's mostly very conservative. Mostly a farming area, miles and miles of apples, cherries, peaches, and vegatables, but still fairly close to good resturants and stores. It's right on the lake.Great King salmon,Rainbow,Steelhead,Coho, lake trout and smallmouth fishing. You (or anyone else)want to try some trolling for salmon/trout in the summer,You're welcome to come up,and spend a few days fishing.

Trailers and most everything else too. With hurricanes and housing in Florida, there are three reasonable actions, (1)buy something that meets your needs and is cheap enough that you can walk away from a total loss in the very unlikely situation of getting hit by a big one(trailers can make sense), or (2) buy something high enough and strong enough to stand up to a category 4 or 5, (3) rent.
When you get closer to your trip, let me know. I'm not far and know some about the area. |
