I'm not the best source for this, only had the outboard version, but both the 20 and 25 like weight forward. Heck, in rough water, the 20 likes weight, period. For us, the boat ran into very snotty conditions quite well with 6 scuba tanks in a rack centered about where the cabin door is. It would be my guess that the outboard version has a more forward CG and would run better accordingly.

BushWacker said Carl told him the IO has the CG advantage and I believe this. I have @ a 35 gal livewell under my LP and she loves when it`s full. Sits right down. There is a gal here with young squids and she walks right by me in the snot with her yellow io seafari. Willie gets upset
when this happens.

The lower the power is mounted must also be of benefit.

I respectfully disagree......

When we had our gathering at Peanut Island...
With Skip & Carla's full camping gear and Patti and myself..
The "NoBones" was loaded to the GILLS!!!!
It never ran softer or smoother!!!

Just goes to show you that these boats are capable of carrying
more then they appear!!

It surprised the chit outa me, and my crew and guests!!

Dang these boats are AWESOME!!!

I think the 20`s like weight because we are wont to launch them and test her. The weight keeps the vertical launch lower.

One nice feature of the Seafari is that with that big cabin, it's real easy to put a lot of gear up front and also keep it dry! That big stepdown aft of the cabin door on the earlier models also makes a good place to sit a 70 qt. cooler which can also be pretty heavy!

Before my first Bahama trip over 35 years ago, I mounted pad eyes to the bulkheads in all 4 corners of the cabin so I can lash everything down to keep it from shifting around when it gets rough! Also mounted pad eye's in all 4 corners of the cockpit for the same reason. The last thing you need in rough seas is to have your load shifting around!
