Default Close Call At Sun and Fun

For those of you that are not familiar with Sun and Fun. It is the 2nd largest Fly in for Airplane Enthusiasts the largest being Oshkosh.

If you like boats, usually you will appreciate fine cars, airplanes and other stuff

I went up on Thursday with a couple of airplane buddies (ground travel). We got to the show at Lakeland Fl. around 11.30 am. We just got in when a big storm cell was coming in fast. We left the tent area and ran for the first hangar. As we got there the cell hit...winds clocked at 110. After hearing that for 10 minutes and wondering if the building was going to hold up the cell passed and we went out to see this.

Very sad day...thankfully no one was killed.

Yeah....very bad situation. I'm going today with my brother to check out the show and look for some deals on seat covers for his Cherokee Six. The bad part is some of these damaged planes are one of a kind, built from the ground up as a lifelong dream project.....kinda like us SeaCraft guys, really sad. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Well... if they are anything like seacraft guys you can bet a few guys just started eyeballing some new projects.

Did I mention that I am completely redoing a fiberglass boat that was build over 40 years ago? And I started that project before finishing the 23 I already have up on boat stands?

I hope those guys see the silver lining and keep after it. Great looking planes and I am sure in the right hands lots of salvageable parts and projects. Really lucky no one was hurt!
