Tsunami Cabin Hatch cover
Looking for ideas to build a new cabin hatch for a 23 Tsunami. All I currently have is two pieces of of tinted lexan that leak at the seam. I have some left over Azek pvc board that i would like to use. Looking for pics and dimensions of original hatch or any other setups people have built that may work better.
Thanks in advance, Jeff |

Re: Tsunami Cabin Hatch cover
Hi there. Just signed up for this site and saw your post. I'm not sure if you have already completed your hatch project, but I have a brochure from an Original Tsunami. It shows pictures of original hatch and boat layout. Let me know if you would like a copy and I can send you what I have.

Re: Tsunami Cabin Hatch cover
I just replaced my big heavy hinged fiberglass panel with a piece of vinyl. It still needs some improving. Some battons to give it a domed shape on top to shed water would help. But, it's a heck of a lot better than what we had (which was not original). I'm not sure I'd go this route with out a hardtop to help keep rain out though.

Re: Tsunami Cabin Hatch cover
The Azek board can be heated and shaped. If you give me until next week, I can get the temp. required to shape it. We use the same material 3/4" thick and shape it quite often. You could make a form from luan panel, heat the Azek and place it on the form then, after cooling, trim it to fit. You'll have to get creative regarding your heat source because it needs to be heated all at once. Let me know if you want the info.
