I think the same pitch is fine in the Black Max. 1 hole will likely make the difference. The Black Max will turn easier so you'll likely gain some rpm there too. May even allow you to go up an inch or 2 of pitch giving you more top end and efficiency at cruise. That being said, you will almost certainly get more mph, mpg and thus range, with a stainless prop.

As far as trim tabs go, 18 X 9 would probably work nicely.

Well McGillicuddy you were right. I went up one hole on the bracket and that made the difference. I m now getting 5500 rpms but I gained 4 miles an hour top end. Im now getting 38 miles an hour now compared to 34 miles an hour but I only gained 100 rpms. Unfortunatley I put the boat in the water on tuesday 3/31 and the boat was running a little rough so I changed the spark plugs and it ran great. I left in at the main float that night and so how it was completely sunk at the dock the next morning . I have the insurance surveyor coming down this morning to find out why it sank. This whole thing just ripped my heart out of my chest. I only bought the boat last may and then this happened, everything was fine last year, and the only work I did was cosmetic. Sorry to read of your boat going under.
I hope you were able to raise her quickly.
Bilge pump failure or weather? Or punk ass vandals? either way it $ucks.

Do not try to run the motor.
The salvage process is very important and much may be saved and be little worse for wear.

especially Fr. Franks and bitsamonkey's advice. Do not try to run it until you've gone through the motor as recommended. If you have a shop manual for your motor/drive review the section on salvaging after complete immersion/submersion. Good luck man.
Glad to hear you got some good gains in speed and a little rpm. 38 is pretty good for a 200 with so much wind resistance. Also, a prop change will get you the balance of the missing rpms. Still curious to see if the black max lets you wind it up a little more. I think however the Apollo will be faster at top end. Check your thru hulls and scuppers for water intrusion through corrosion or broken seals.
