Re: 23cc w/ 200HPDI Performance?
I can't read the HP number but I thought the old 23's were rated for 400. I still don't think a single 200 w/bracket would be "satisfying"

They are rated for up to 400 HP. The Savages are rated for up to 500 HP.

Re: 23cc w/ 200HPDI Performance?
mine is a 89 23cc with a ttop i redone 3 years ago, rebuilt the transom with marine ply, recored the decks and cap with marine ply from the bottom side. But i still have the original 200 merc black max on it.it will top out at 41 by gps with a 19 prop. would love something less noisey and a little faster, but untill it shows me a rod i will stick with it.

Re: 23cc w/ 200HPDI Performance?
I run a 25ft Bertram 1967 FBSF with a SINGLE 225hp Optimax swinging a labbed 15pitch Mirage plus. I fish with no less then 4 people and mostly full gear.
Ultra light with 1 person and 10 gallons of fuel, I just hit 40 mph on GPS. With canvas up, 4 people, full fuel (80gallons), and gear, it will cruise at 24mph and top out at 36 mph. This boat has a 10ft beam, and is over 25ft long with a flybridge. Planes off easily and stay on plane at 20mph. Its all in the prop. Just my 2 cents. |
