Quick Question: 23' SF Inboard

I am in the process of a repower for my boat and have it in the shop (have not yet put it in the water since purchase) and I noticed that there are two small holes in the floor in the each back corner. I think they are for the "self bailing cock pit" but I am not sure. I know they were put there for a reason, but do I need plugs for them or should I not be worrying. This may be a very dumb question but I hadn't noticed them until today. Thanks!

They are for the self bailing. I would recommend getting the ball scuppers, because the inboards sit low and the ball scuppers stop water from running in when you stand in a corner. Made a huge difference on ours.

What are you repowering with and what wheel are you swinging?

Putting in a 260 horse diesel volvo. We are currently waiting for the technician to come for sea trials, so the prop is not for certain yet. But as of now we are swinging a 17'' wheel. However, this could easily change depending on our results next week. When you say ball scuppers, what do you mean and where could I invest in some?

So u have a inboard outboard not a inboard ? If its a true inboard I would like to see it luv them !

the drain holes go thru the hull??? i thought ball scuppers wouldnt work on the bottom of the boat>?

It is a straight inboard and ill try and get some pics up. But yes, the holes do go right through the hull. This is normal, right?

Yes, it's normal. Ball scuppers will not work with the thru-hull deck drains. But yes, you can put a standard 1" rubber drain plug in the hole from the deck side. If you have the spray deflectors on the hull, you can even put the plugs in from the outside.
