Default Performance info ,27 Seacraft Diesel-D6-350 HP I/O

I moved the post from pics to performance. I just got back from my 3'rd Sea trial with the correct props (G5 Duoprop). Top Speed was 36 Knots at 3500 RPM and I was burning about 14.5 Gallons per Hour. I set it to 3000 RPM and I cruised at exactly 30 Knots, and it was burning 11.5 GPH.Looks like about 2.6 MPG all around. At 2500 RPM I was doing about 22.5 Knots and burning 8.5 GPH. Bottom line, top speed is 36 Knots, I can cruise all day long at 30 knots. It trolls a little fast, 3.6 knots at 600 RPM, burns 0.31 GPH trolling. My Volvo Trim tabs were not working, so I may be able to improve the numbers. It is fairly quiet for a diesel, I will add more sound-down to the engine compartment to quiet it down a bit.. It is an impressive engine package. I think I am sitting at 8000 lbs loaded with 140 gallons fuel, and thats how I tested it.

Dan

Very impressive Dan, sounds like you did an excellent job finishing her. When are you going to put the first blood on the deck? How bout some more boat porn for us? My parents live right down the road and i have admired her for some time along with all the other seacrafts in your two driveways. Congratulaions, let me know if you ever need a deckhand.

Great to hear Dan. A long time coming.

What speed does she plane at?

How far offshore will you take her/

Thanks Peter, she planes somewhere between 14-18 knots, if I had the tabs working it might be quicker. I plan a few Canyon trips after I get all the wrinkles out and i get a buddy boat to tag along. I may need more fuel for the Canyons, but I will now after the shorter trips.

I love that planing speed. That's great to have (in terms of comfort of ride and fuel comsumption) when you are going offshore.

The one problem with my current ride is that I need to be going at 20 MPH or so. I think that part of my issue is too much horse power & too much weight in the back. I am thinking of swapping out my 12 x 12 tabs for the 3" drop fin setup. Also, may look at my props.
