Hydrogen Power
I'm in the process of fabricating some hydrogen generators for my trucks and was thinking about one for my carbed outboard. The hydrogen is introduced into the air intake on the vehicles and could easily be done on the outboard. Question is, would the jetting need to change on the 2 stroke? A business associate of mine installed them on his fleet of 30 Mitsubushi diesels and is seeing a 20-25% savings in fuel costs.

Re: Hydrogen Power
Be sure to keep us posted as I have been researching this and contemplating this on my old Tahoe with a very thirsty 350. Thanks!

Re: Hydrogen Power
What are you going to use as a vac-pump on this 2 stroke?
Some of the older GM Fwd cars had a stand alone ele-vac pump that gave 21 lbs constant ran on 12 volts and built much like our pulse fuel pump, If you dead ended the postive side of the pump to a water Trap then route to carbs maybe, The vac gens seem to produce quicker volumes of gas per min. The AMP draw is would be the next hurdle to jump imho. But not impossibe to beat. Rotax 2 stroke engines for Ultra-Light Aircraft used Bing carbs, Theres a fuel primer barb thats threaded just perfect for injecting direct into the carb throat. It would require drill and tap of the carb bodys, But not a big deal. I think I would want head temp gauges on ea bank and exhaust gas temps as well to monitor how lean/rich and run the stock engine with these first to get a good set of working numbers to work from. I would only want the gen turned on during throtte not while idling, use of switches, relays and shut off solnolds. Less chance of build up in cowling See what you did to me, another project to dwell on. Thanks keep us posted how its going. Steve |
