Re: Call Sea-tow
If a person is going to take the time to photoshop a boat in a position like that, the least they could do is use a decent looking boat. That boat belongs in old Rockford Files re-runs.

Re: Call Sea-tow
Looks like an old Chris Craft Commander, no?
On three occassions I have personally witnessed boats left high and dry on the Nantucket Harbor jetty and the Merrimack River jetty. Think they had too many mojitos? There is also a picture floating around on the net of a charter sight seeing boat that took refuge in a cove in British Columbia. During the night the tide dropped from under them and for a while they were perched on a ledge but than the boat slid down the ledge stern first and sank. Would not have wanted to be that captain! |

Re: Call Sea-tow
The Palm Beach Police department ran a 23' SF for many years with twin 235 Evinrudes. It struck the south jetty at Lake Worth Inlet one night, fortunately not while up on plane. It was left there until the investigation was complete the next day. More than half the hull up on the rocks. Big hole in the hull the size of a football. Ugly sight. SeaTow put a canvas patch over the hole with 4200 and drove it to the dock. It was repaired by Spencer in WPB in less than a week and back in service.
The memory still makes me shudder. I nominated that officer for the annual Channel Digger's Award in 1985.
