Default Re: fuel range in a 20

I have a new 28 gal tank in a 20'Seafari, with a 150 carb Merc. I usually cruise at 4200 rpm's, (about 30 kts), and overall, I get an average of 2.9 nautical miles per gallon, according to my calculations. Last year, during a long run up the ICW from Key West to Long Key State Park, (74 statute miles according to my GPS), I burned only 19 gallons of fuel running at a fairly constant 3800 rpms & 27 knots (31 mph). That's 3.9 mpg, and I was very pleased with that.
