Exclamation yanmar problems

Looking for so addvice on a thread repair I have on the side of the engine block there's a nub that comes off and the oil pressure sensor hose comes out of. I found a large oil leak coming from it so I looked at it and there's A large piece that actually Brock off so I was wondering would it be better to take a tap and thread it in further past the break (yes it threads) or cut of the excess and then thread it what's that safest way?
