Default Mosquito Lagoon Camping

Patti and I decided to do a little island camping in
the lagoon last night. Found the perfect spoil island that
was about 3 acres in size. This one was perfect with a protected cove on the back side with plenty of depth to safely tie up the 64 Lone Star flats boat to be away from the ICW.

Site was right next to cove..

Relocation of wild life..

Agh, sunset was great!

There were Manatees in the cove and let me say they
were quite vocal through out the entire night!!!
We arose to a clatter at 6:00AM today and this
was going on for over 3 hours...

Keep in mind these big-uns were in 4ft. of water

We counted at least 13 moving in and out over the
3 hour period.
Believe it or not this was a blast, the temp last night was
great, had to throw a sleeping bag over the two of us as
it was a little cool, outside temp wise that is!

The water is plenty deep as where we could make it in
with the SeaCraft, but the 'ole flats boat was packed to
the gills and is a heck of a lot easier and cheaper
to operate...
There are a bunch of these spoil islands that would be great
for a primative SeaCraft gathering!!
Check out this link Volusia Spoil Islands

We stayed on ML-DD-68-1
