Default Back from West End

I just returned from the West End. Those who advised that Bootle Bay was a good place to stay hit it on the head. Nice accomadations, Vida was a great host. Food was good. Not much activity as far as the locals go. (a big plus compared to the out islands) Rooms were nice and there was plenty of dockage even though there were 4-5 other boats there much of the time. Thanks again for the advice.

As far as the fishing goes, it could have been better. The deep dropping was OK with many yellow eye, some small queens, and a couple of grouper caught each day. I normally run to the Abacos and the volume of fish caught this trip did not really compare to my normal trip. Maybe this is my knowledge of the area or maybe it is just that West End sees a bit more fishing pressure. Either way I had plenty to eat and brought a few fish home.

The offshore bite was slow to non-existent. Grand total of 0 Dolphin, 0 Tuna, and 0 Wahoo caught on my boat and the other boat with me. 1 boat did manage to pick up 2 small Dolphin on Saturday. The wind had switched to NE just as we got into town and did a number on the offshore fishing....

Now, on the way home things picked up. (both the seas and the fishing) we managed to boat a pile of large yellow eye off the banks near Memory Rock. As we bumped off the banks to head home we found a nice rip 8 miles from Mem Rock and picked up 3 decent Dolphin while releasing a few others as they got to the boat.
