Default New lighter Yammie 4-strokes

In one of his posts, Snookerd pointed out the new lighter Vmax Yamaha 4-strokes.

I saw a Yamaha web site with the Offshore versions a couple weeks ago but either it was pulled, or I just can't find it again. It looks like they dropped the weight significantly on the 250 and 300 so that they are now lighter than some of the DFI 2-strokes which is great for 23SC owners. If Yamaha accomplished the same in their F150 or a 200, it sure would open up new options for 20' Seacraft owners and others repowering older boats. I am curious to know what you guys think about the plasma fused cylinders vs steel cylinders. That does not sound like something that could be rebuilt, but then I guess 4-strokes are too expensive to rebuild anyway??
