I'd stay away from the Merc 2.5L EFI motors too . . . All the carb motors are fine. EFI's seem to have a higher failure rate from what I've seen and heard from dealers/mechanics/rebuilders. EFI also have some expensive parts to replace if you have issues. Of course can always swap the intake from EFI to carb if you had issues and the motor didn't self destruct. Ed's still has brand new Yamaha 150 2 strokes for $7500!!!
