Default Another scupper post

OK I have searched many a post on the "in floor scuppers" on the 20' CC. My question is: Has anyone ever tried switching the 1969 and 1970 scuppers that drain through the deck and then out the transom to the 1971 and later that version that drain through the deck and out the bottom? I am re-doing the transom on a 1970 and the scuppers drain pretty much below the waterline. Some of the other posts on the 1970 boats mention as soon as you get in put the plugs in or else-water on deck. I wonder is this the same on the scuppers that drain out the bottom?? (1971 and later) I am not planning on rasing the deck. Just wondering if there is any benefit at all to re-routing the thru hulls to the bottom. Curently the thru hulls and the deck drains are connected via a (original) rubber hose. THANKS . THE HERMIT
