Default New Purchase - 1977 SeaCraft 18SF

Hey everyone,

My name is Kraig, I am stationed down at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS, and I finally got myself a classic SeaCraft (after 7-8 months of looking) ...1977 18SF with a 1995 Evinrude OceanPro Offshore 150HP engine (approx 350 hours). Absolutely flawless and maintained very well by the three prior owners (All Doctors, who provided silly amounts of paperwork/bills of sale/receipts/owners manuals, etc.) for this beaut.

My plans are to use her mainly for the barrier islands (Horn Island, Petit Bois Island and Ship Island off the MS coast) and also to hit the oil rigs for kings/mahi (depending). Last owner put in a brand new 47 gallon aluminum tank and the transom was raised 5 inches (as I'm starting to see is quite common). Went ahead and got insurance through Charter Lakes for under 300/year and applied for titles on the hull/engine. Plans are to get a small pair of tabs for the boat (suggestions? 9x9?) as well as sand down the teak and seal it (again, suggestions?). Just learned about this forum, believe it or not...through my Cousin Arioch (BoatBoy6). Let me know what you guys think about the boat/condition and any suggestions would be appreciated. I look forward to keepin' her classy looking...amazing lines on these boats. What kind of seas can the 18SF handle? Look forward to hearing input...check out the pictures below:
