Default ocracoke, guides, fishing, food

heading to ocracoke island labor day week, have never been to the outer banks. after much deliberation, ive decided not to trailer my boat up too. was wondering if anybody could recommend any good fishing guides up there. my girlfriend wants to catch "a big fish, not a shark". we were kingfishing yesterday and the damn sharks were stealing baits left and right. she doesnt fish too often but i took her out yesterday for a small tournament in far less than optimum conditions and she loved it. down here in charleston our offshore bite has turned off by september, what goes on up there that time of year? also, any places in particular for surf casting? lastly, we chose ocracoke because we wanted a chilled out relaxed week (we live by the ocean already, just in a city). but, we will want to do some exploring. what else is there on the outer banks i cant miss?
