Twin Engine Motor Height
I am thinking about raising the motors ( twin engine ) on my 23 scepter and would like some input from the experts. Motors are Suzuki 140's and currently mounted in the top hole. On the outboard side of the engine, the ventilation plate is about 2 inches below the hull surface. On the inboard side of the engine, the ventilation plate is even with the running surface. This is because the inside is on the lower plane and the outside is on the center plane. I'm thinking I can go up two holes and go to a 20 or 21 pitch prop. My main objective is to improve my fuel economy.

What's important is, where is the plate while you are running? Above the surface or below the surface as the water comes from the hull.

The plate is buried out the outboard side. I'm not sure about the inboard side. Kind of hard to view. Here is a picture.

I have mine mounted to where the inboard side of the plate and hydrofoil are in the air
the water flow just covers the water pickup on the lower unit. The outboard side just gets splashed no true contact with the surface. by your picture I would start with 3 holes and go from there, just make sure your water pickups have plenty of water flow over them.

I raised the motors to the third hole but had motor issues on my test run. Port motor seems to have fuel issues. Cav plates still seemed to be under water. I'll post back when I can get a good test/.
