Clean older motors 2x175hp - 1977s

Ran accross this on THT. Thought they looked good, as does the older Sceptre.

No affiliation of mine, but I thought someone might know him since he had a "Classic SeaCraft - Potter built" sticker.

Nice vintage set but non-loopers make for some really thirsty 2-smokers.

Great looking Sceptre! It was 2 boats ahead of mine in the production line.

I cannot believe it is still for sale.... You just cannot go out and buy such a perfect boat like this. I wish I had a garage big enough for it.

No one even commented on it when it was up top in the for sale thread!!
Might be the older power but looks so darned clean!!!

Would enjoy seeing more interior pics - floor and cuddy..........

Suggest comments about the engine condition such as " compression perfect all around" or not so buyers can get a feel for the motor life.

I recently bought the boat from a guy in Miami. The boat as you can see was and is in perfect / original condition. Meticulous owner and a wonderful man to deal with. My intentions for the boat is to repower it, making a more dependable Bahamas runner.

The motors are perfect, not sure on compression but they run great. The repower will consist of new twin Suzy's or a large single. Have not decided yet.

Anyone have any idea what this set of motors should bring? each or total. Its tough to sell them as there just is nothing to compare them too being 36 years old and all. I am hoping someone will find a need for them as parts or for an old whaler they want to be original. IDK.

Hey Riley..I thought that was your ad for the Seacraft here on this site..I apologize for that. Great boat you have there.

I see late 80's early 90's OMC's sometimes on Craigslist etc going for $1000-$1500 each with OBO.

Did you say Whaler on CSC? Many of us had BWs as squids. A water park and amusement park all wrapped into one. Wheeeeeee. No better squid boat.

When these hit the spurious truth, I thought about them. I thought about them some more.
I wish mfrs. used more grease and anti seize on their motahs. The paint is not great and I suck at painting. Shift shaft and tiller arm are not SS. `93 for rudes.

Basic parts are available. You could make good money on ebay parting out.
Taking things apart on an old salt motah, well, I am not in a good mood after that.
