Cute SeaCraft Runabout info please
Hi Everybody,
I'm new here looking for info on this SeaCraft I'm very interested in buying. I'm in negotiations with the owner now. I was looking for a tin boat but this one is so cute I had to jump and would like to know anything about this model as I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. It's a 1978 and I think it's a 14'. I haven't been able to find anything on the web about it so anything anyone wants to tell me would be appreciated. Does this have wood stringers? Found out more about the boat. It's a 15 footer and is called the "Ultra."
Heading out to buy it next week so will be a SeaCraft owner. Still haven't found anything on the web. I guess they didn't make many of them. Cheers, Rabbit

Welcome aboard. You need to read a bit more about SeaCraft to learn what they look like and what they are all about... That boat has no relation to the family of SeaCrafts this site addresses. Start here: http://www.classicseacraft.com/specifications.htm http://www.classicseacraft.com/literature.htm There is a SeaCraft brand that is made in Australia but has no relationship to the boats on this site. The boat you are looking at has only one thing in common with SeaCrafts on this site - it floats... If you like the boat by all means buy it. If you want a SeaCraft, read the literature and the specs pages and keep looking... For more about the SeaCraft brand check out www.moeslyseacraft.com where you'll see a brochure of the "Real" cute 15' SeaCraft known as the Scampi. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
I have to assume the guy knows what kind of boat he has and I also have to believe you know what you're talking about which leaves me in a quandary over the I.D. of the boat. He mentioned I wouldn't find any info on the web. Said it was basically one of a kind so I'll just have to see when I get there. Anyway you got me thinking maybe the guy confused Starcraft with Seacraft but nothing matched and I recall Starcraft having aluminum boats. Also checked Australian SeaCraft and nothing. If it turns out to be American SeaCraft I'll post a photo of the nomenclature plate. Thanks again. It was nice of you to take your time.

Make sure you match up the hull ID with the title. If you give us the hull ID # then maybe we can help you find out who the MFG is. There are a lot of boats that end with word "craft" in their name so it is easy for an owner to confuse the names. I once almost bought a Spacecraft instead of a Seacraft because the owner was advertizing it as a seacraft.
