I have been starting with 400 and working my way to 1500...but I am doing a big area.

I'm tellin' ya, you won't have half the work if you get some poly glow. A friend of mine with a Wellcraft Coastal 29 had oxidization so bad he thought he was going to have to paint. He couldn't find any sandpaper finer than 600. He sanded off the oxidization and was sure he'd ruined the finish. 5 or 6 coats of Poly Glow and it looked like a new boat. No buffing, just a sponge applicator that comes with the kit. One kit will do your boat twice with enough coats to make it shine like new from an 800 grit wet sand finish. I ain't sellin the stuff, just a very satisfied customer.
