Default Where to mount a transducer

Where would be the best location to mount a transom mounted transducer? Left side Right side, flush with the bottom of the hull, level with the bottom of the hull, ect...

Look at my post under "general" regarding mounting them. I will never again drill another hole into a transom on a classic.

Ya thats what I was looking for but I think I am going to try the shoot tru as I don't like drilling holes in the transom either.
