Hey, if the weather is good I'm game. There are fish between FP and West End and you can always stop a try your luck. Still a ways off but ya don't want to wait until the last minute.

Are we talking a day trip or multi day? 82 nautical is a hike one way to reception for a day trip. If the weather is good and you can cruise @ 30 knots you are still looking at a 2.5 hour run which isn't too bad but weather can be a factor either way. When Mel and I went last time from Boynton it was only 52 nautical. Getting there was a breeze but it took 4 ugly hours to get back.... Well, it was ugly for me but not so much for sleeping beauty.

If this is really being considered for some you may want to get on the horn for rooms. Vita's place is usually booked solid but their prices are reasonable. The other place right around the corner usually has availability but its going to be 300 a night if you're not staying a full week.

Not worth it, IMHO. I did the run last year (2.5 hrs with great seas, 4 plus hours with anything else-That's crossing 56 miles, not 80-90miles). It would need to be overnight, which kills the chance to hangout with the CSC crowd who doesn't go (most members). No reason not to get way out there hunting dolphin during the day, though!

I get what you are saying as last week I had to run 51 nautical to get AJs out of Cedar Key but I didn't run 80 nautical and have to deal with forms, fees and permits at reception at the west end. By the time you get back to where the fish are you are 5 hours into your day with another 3+ hour ride back. I'll take a Ponce run any day over that cluster. I'm willing to bet you would out fish any of us out of your home port than two of us running over there.

That's why the CSC Bahamas Gathering at Grand Cay for 3-5 days needs to happen. Next June, brothers........It is not Grand Bahama version of the Bahamas, actually Walkers Cay type seclusion with way less pressure from the SE FL crowd. Rooms are only $125 a night for a suite with a kitchen at Josey Wales place......

Also consider that halfway there is considered fishing in Bahamian water.

We always produce food to make Cape Cod jealous.
