There is a reason Potter didn't make the 25' CC into production.
They couldn't get it right I would think twice about your idea. Listen to all the above advise.

If the floor is out, I don't see why you couldn't add 300-500lbs of glass / lead to the hull to the center section. You would also be able to reinforce the weak area in front of the stringers.
BigFluke told us where the LCG should be from the heel of the boat (7.9ft). Notch the transom, lose the bracket, and add some weight low in the hull up front (larger fuel tank + extra glass / lead). I think this 150gallon tank could fit. I have to measure, b/w the stringers again. http://www.easternmarine.com/moeller...l-tank-ft15004 The pic is from a 23, but you get the idea where I am talking about adding weight. |

well I did find a complete 8.1 mpi bravo package I can pick up at a deal, might forget the center console idea and convert her back to an I/O.
It would be a lot cheaper than 18K and no motors

Bigfluke just beat me to buying that modified 25. It was in Sandwich, Ma if I recall correctly and was run by a commercial guy. I remember him telling me the same thing...up to 25mph is was spot on but then required attention. He also reiterated that he kept the forward fish box full of ice and catch.
