I was looking threw the article section on the site and saw this listed in a seacraft ad at the base of the page. It list a SeaQuarius 20. What is a SeaQuarius 20? and dose anybody have a pic? The ad was from 1968 and it also mentioned the Seavilla and scampi:

Good observation FF,
Gotta keep in mind that '68 was a pretty experimental time out here in California. There were plenty of kids joining in the Scamper to Canada and Mex to avoid Viet-nam, and plenty of others still singin' the praises of the Age of Seaquarius. I guess its possible that the Sceptre was on the drawing board as the Seaquarius, and Scamper (or Scampi) was too. That was also the only time I've seen the Peace dove cursive "S" logo too. Maybe just marketing to the hipsters... a Seavilla recently showed up so who knows. Maybe Carla can look into this interesting bit of typographical history.

'68 would have been Moesly era, although Potter may have been on board by then, and Potters strength was definitely more in Marketing than hull design, so maybe the ad reflects his input. Dash layout looks more like a 25 Seafari, but those weren't built in the Moesly era. Gillie's right, we're gonna need Carla's help to sort this one out!
Fish, could you scan that into a .pdf file so we can read it better?! Thanks for the interesting post! Denny

Denny, that's the 1968 Western Boating News review of the Seafari 25 in the literature section. There are no dates on the 3 pages.

The pic is definitely a 25 seafari. Maybe the seaquarius is a 20 septre? Gotta be early Potter, the 23 is listed.

My thoughts were that it was maybe the first name for the sceptre 20' that didn't stick. I also thought it might be an old rare model that a few were only made. It would be neat to know the story is behind it. Now that all of these scampi's have turned up it would be cool to find out that the seaquarius is even a rarer model of all the seacrafts, even more rare than the elusive 27' seavettes. Then we all can hit google earth in search for one of these birds!
