Default Re: SF20 gas tank dimensions

The original tank that came out of my 1976 20SF measured 5' x 2' x 8" high. The hull has 2 main stringers.
I had a new tank built to those same dimensions and it holds about 48.5 gallons but I probably only have about 46 gallons of burnable fuel if you figure you can't suck the last 5%+/- out of the tank.

Everybody that replied, thanks for the dimensions! BigShrimpin, the boat is a 72' and has two foam filled stringers. Bottom line is I will just have to measure the width to make sure. The height was what I was most curious about.

Will, if you can get some kind of discount for two, let me know. I would probably take you up on it. There is practically a welding shop on every corner, so I guess you are right - there is no reason to order one from across the country.

Blue, I guess it is ok to hijack my own thread, so here are a couple pictures of my very incomplete console after cutting 10" out of it and glassing back together. Yeah, it is pretty ugly right now. I filled 120+ holes in it so I have alot of fairing to do.

Nice work on the console. I put a 23" wide tank (23x7.5x48) into my 1972 seafari (with the 2 large stringers) . . . and it fit nicely, but I had to grind the lip around the hatch to get it in.
