Default Does your boat have name

How many of you have a name for your boat?

If so, does the boat have the name on it?

Is the name on the side or transom?

What size letters?

Pictures?

I never had a name on my 20' SC CC. I am thinking of naming the 23' "Illusion" because this boat definitely makes it appear that I am an accomplished fisherman. Which I am not (but hope to become).

Yep she has a name on her side. I don't recall how tall they are, but here is what it looks like:

My boat is 1999 25' SeaCraft

Blizzard-

Ha Ha! Believe you are a great fisherman and it shall be so!!!

Yes, my SeaCraft is Melissa Ann, named for my wife, best friend, and #1 fishing partner. I was ridiculed in the past for naming a boat after my wife. Some say marraiges fail, don't do it.... what a crappy attitude that is!

There was only one name I could have chosen and that is the one on the transom right now. That is, until the little ones come along!

Also, IMHO, I love boats named after poeple, which is another reason for using her name. Look at some of the big fishing boats and they are all named after a person, well, maybe not all, but a lot of them are!

My boat is named "Instead" but I don't have it on the boat, I just use it on the radio. It's a 20' and I prefer no graphics on the sides of my rigs - SeaCraft logo excluded of course.

My boat was named Blue Boy on the transom when we got it. I took that right of the and named it Blue Balls, but we kept that off the boat

I was going to name my 20' SC "Mr. Wigglie" and my wife said "over her dead body" - so it has no name on it.

Chris, there's always "Jersey Girl". I don't think that name is copyrighted or anything.

The Seabird is named "Off the Hook" and the SeaCraft is "Summer Salt". Neither boat has the name on them, but my father did have 8" vinyl letters made for the SC a few years ago. When we held them up to the boat, they seemed the right size.

My boat is named "Trident". A trident is the pitch-fork like tool that Neptune/Poseidon (Greek and Roman mythology) used to rule the oceans with. Instead of having the name on the hull, I had a local artist paint it on each side of the console. Looks pretty good....you can check it out on classicmako.com.

I can't take the credit for the name. It was on my first 20' Mako when I bought it down in Texas and so when I bought the bigger 23 a few years back I transferred the name over because I liked it.
